Success at Reading Magistrates’ Court for Beth Vaughan
Beth Vaughan represented a client at trial who was charged with fraud by false representation at Reading Magistrates’ Court.
The Crown Prosecution Service made a hearsay application in respect the complainant’s evidence, who was unable to attend court due to medical issues. Beth succeeded in her objection and the complainant’s evidence was excluded.
The trial proceeded and the prosecution relied upon our client’s interview at the police station where some admissions were made and bank statements. Beth submitted a legal argument in relation to admissibility and the strength of the evidence within the police interview and the Magistrates found our client not guilty.
