Successful Representations Made for Catherine Brymer’s Client

Catherine Brymer was instructed to represent a client charged with a s.4a Public Order Act offence.

During the course of proceedings the client was charged with further matters of assault emergency worker and a further s.4a Public Order Act offence.

Catherine secured an expert report to confirm the client’s mental health issues and wrote detailed representations to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to request a full review of both proceedings and suggested it was not in the public interest to proceed.

Catherine was able to persuade the CPS to discontinue both sets of proceedings against her client.
