Offer of No Evidence at Reading Magistrates’ Court

We represented a client accused of possession of an offensive weapon, a public order act offence and criminal damage. The complainant in this matter was a family member.

The defendant spent 7 weeks remanded in custody pending trial. On the day of trial Beth Vaughan made representations regarding the charges and as a result of these representations the prosecution discontinued the allegation of possession of an offensive weapon and offered no evidence in respect of the criminal damage.

As a result of this our client was left facing the public order act offence only which resulted in his release on the same day.
