Acquittal in Assault by Beating Case for Catherine Brymer

Catherine Brymer secured an acquittal at trial in Reading Magistrates’ Court. The client was charged with assault by beating. It was alleged that the client had hit the complainant multiple times and then deliberately reversed into them twice with a car.

The Crown Prosecution Service called evidence from the complainant and a witness, presented images of injuries and played the 999 call.

The client gave evidence to the Court completely denying the allegations.

Catherine presented a robust cross examination of the Prosecution witnesses and presented a compelling closing argument which persuaded the Court to find the Defendant not guilty.
